Nike to open stores in Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Texas, Tennessee and West Virginia
The new Nike apparel store at the iconic Los Angeles Times building will open next year in the heart of the nation’s second-largest city, and the retailer is expected to add a third store in Texas and one in Tennessee, the company announced Monday.
The stores, to be located at 8600 N. California Ave., in the Times building and the Plaza Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, will offer the footwear, apparel, accessories, accessories and accessories-specific categories that Nike has focused on in recent years, according to a press release.
The company has been building its U.S. footprint in the past two years, and plans to open its first store in the Los Angeles area in the coming months, according a release.
Nike has seen sales grow each year since 2010, when it opened in Austin, Texas.
“We have seen a tremendous growth in the consumer market and demand for new athletic apparel and footwear,” said Chris Wilson, Nike’s chief executive.
“We believe that with Nike’s global footprint and our growing presence in apparel, footwear and accessories, we will be a dominant force in the next couple of years.”
The first store is expected be open by March.
