Why the world’s biggest online store doesn’t care about its customers
In a world where a $300 phone is $1,000, there’s no reason to spend $200 on a digital book or movie rental.
That’s a fact that seems to be ignored by Amazon and many other retailers.
This week, the world-leading online retailer Cox, which has more than 15 million customers in India, decided to remove the option to pay for books and movies from its store.
The decision came after a customer complained that it made her feel like she was being treated like a slave by the store, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
While Cox’s move is certainly a step in the right direction for digital books and movie rentals, it doesn’t address the problem of why people are so reluctant to pay cash.
“The problem is not that Amazon has to remove this option, it’s that it has to start charging a fair price for digital book and movie rental,” said Shashank Manchanda, Cox chief executive officer.
“The problem with the situation right now is that people are not willing to pay that much for digital entertainment.
That will only become a problem as people get older.”
The solution: Make the process of renting movies and books easierThe problem for many people is that they simply don’t have the cash to make the necessary payments to Amazon.
As Bloomberg Business Week notes, CoX, which operates in the U.S., is currently selling movies and TV shows at a cost of about $5 per movie.
“For every $100 spent on a movie, there are five movies for sale for $10,” said Manchana.
But the store’s CEO is not looking to just make the process a little easier for customers.
For a long time, Coxt’s business model was to rent out its inventory to people who didn’t have a lot of money to spend.
This meant that if a customer wanted to rent a movie for a few bucks, the customer would pay a deposit of around $20.
For most people, this fee would cover the cost of renting the movie.
But if the customer had a family to support, it could get quite expensive.
And even for that, the deposit would be quite high.
The problem was that for some customers, it was the best way to rent movies.
“People were willing to rent these movies, but they weren’t willing to buy them,” said Menchanda.
This week, Amazon began removing the option of paying for rentals from its site.
But that doesn’t mean that people will stop renting.
According to the company, it plans to continue to add rental options in the future.
What to do if you don’t like the prices: Buy it on Amazon for lessWhat to say to Amazon: “This is your book.
Go to your favorite book store and rent it for a couple of dollars more.”
